Islam: What the West Needs to Know

Apparently there is a new documentary set to open July 7th. Here is the outline in full from their site:
Main Idea
Virtually every major Western leader has over the past several years expressed the view that Islam is a peaceful religion and that those who commit violence in its name are fanatics who misinterpret its tenets. This claim, while widely circulated, rarely attracts serious public examination. Relying primarily on Islam’s own sources, this documentary demonstrates that Islam is a violent, expansionary ideology that seeks the destruction or subjugation of other faiths, cultures, and systems of government.

Content
The documentary consists of original interviews, citations from Islamic texts, Islamic artwork, computer-animated maps, footage of Western leaders, and Islamic television broadcasts. Its tone is sober, methodical, and compelling.

Outline of the Documentary

Introduction
We hear from prominent Western leaders that Islam is peaceful and that those who commit violence in its name are heterodox fanatics.

Part 1: ‘There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is his Prophet’
Our interviewees affirm their belief that Islamic violence is entirely orthodox behavior for Muslims and stems directly from the teachings and example of the Prophet Muhammad and the commands of the Koran. We learn that the example of Muhammad is one of a violent warlord who killed numerous people. The Koran – the verbatim words of Allah – prescribes violence against non-Muslims and Muhammad is the perfect example of the Koran in action.

Part 2: The Struggle
We learn that jihad, while literally meaning 'struggle', in fact denotes war fought against non-Muslims in order to bring the rule of Islamic law to the world. Violent death in jihad is, according to the Koran, the only assurance of salvation. One of our interviewees tells of his personal involvement in terrorism and his leaving Islam.

Part 3: Expansion
Following the death of Muhammad, his 'rightly-guided' successors carried his wars to three continents, fighting, enslaving, and massacring countless Christians, Jews, and Zoroastrians. Islam did not spread through evangelism or through its natural appeal, but through aggressive wars of conquest. The Crusades were largely a belated response on the part of Christian Europe to rescue Christians in the Holy Land suffering under Muslim oppression. The Muslim world today, while no longer the unified empire of the Caliphs, is exceptional for being responsible for the vast majority of conflicts around the world and for almost all of international terrorism.

Part 4: ‘War is Deceit’
A great problem with Western efforts to understand Islam is due to the Islamic principle of 'religious deception', which enjoins Muslims to deceive non-Muslims in order to advance the cause of Islam. Muslim groups today in the West employ deception and omission to give the impression that 'Islam is a religion of peace', an utter fiction.

Part 5: More than a Religion
The most important characteristic of Islam not understood by the West is that it is more a system of government than a personal religion. Throughout its history, Islam has never recognized a distinction between the religious and the secular/political. Islamic law governs every aspect of religious, political, and personal action, which amounts to a form of totalitarianism that is divinely enjoined to dominate the world, analogous in many ways to Communism.

Part 6: The House of War
Islamic theology divides the world into two spheres locked in perpetual combat, dar al-Islam (House of Islam - where Islamic law predominates), and dar al-harb (House of War - the rest of the world). It is incumbent on dar al-Islam to fight and conquer dar al-harb and permanently assimilate it. Muslims in Western nations are called to subvert the secular regimes in which they now live in accordance with Allah's command. Due to political correctness and general government and media irresponsibility, the danger posed by observant Muslims in the West remains largely unappreciated. [emphasis mine]

Memorial Day? Try This One: May 29, 1453

Another wonderful and informative post at Gates of Vienna from Orianna Fallci.

How Constantinople became Istanbul
...Especially in Europe, a Europe that weeps only for the Muslims, never for the Christians or the Jews or the Buddhists or the Hindus, it would not be Politically Correct to know the details of the fall of Constantinople. Its inhabitants who at daybreak, while Mehmet II is shelling Theodosius’ walls, take refuge in the cathedral of St. Sophia and here start to sing psalms. To invoke divine mercy. The patriarch who by candlelight celebrates his last Mass and in order to lessen the panic thunders: “Fear not, my brothers and sisters! Tomorrow you’ll be in the Kingdom of Heaven and your names will survive till the end of time!”. The children who cry in terror, their mothers who give them heart repeating: “Hush, baby, hush! We die for our faith in Jesus Christ! We die for our Emperor Constantine XI, for our homeland!”. The Ottoman troops who beating their drums step over the breaches in the fallen walls, overwhelm the Genovese and Venetian and Spanish defenders, hack them on to death with scimitars, then burst into the cathedral and behead even newborn babies. They amuse themselves by snuffing out the candles with their little severed heads... It lasted from the dawn to the afternoon that massacre. It abated only when the Grand Vizier mounted the pulpit of St. Sophia and said to the slaughterers:

“Rest. Now this temple belongs to Allah

Meanwhile the city burns, the soldiery crucify and hang and impale, the Janissaries rape and butcher the nuns (four thousand in a few hours) or put the survivors in chains to sell them at the market of Ankara. And the servants prepare the Victory Feast. The feast during which (in defiance of the Prophet) Mehmet II got drunk on the wines of Cyprus and, having a soft spot for young boys, sent for the firstborn of the Greek Orthodox Grand Duke Notaras. A fourteen year-old adolescent known for his beauty. In front of everyone he raped him, and after the rape he sent for his family. His parents, his grandparents, his uncles, his aunts and cousins. In front of him he beheaded them. One by one. He also had all the altars destroyed, all the bells melted down, all the churches turned into mosques or bazaars. Oh, yes. That’s how Constantinople became Istanbul. But Doudou of the UN and the teachers in our schools don’t want to hear about it. [emphasis mine]

No, we don’t teach history that way anymore. But Oriana Fallaci is dying, and death gives her freedom to tell the truth, the whole bloody truth, and nothing but the horrendous truth.

This has been a report on the Religion of Peace. They will tell you we made it up.
Fast forward to May, 2006 Belgium:

The squatters are living in the churches. "Church occupations" by illegal immigrants have been going on for a number of years in Belgium. They are not really "occupations" because the Bishops condone the actions and actively support them. Chris Gillibrand visited a number of Brussels churches to take these pictures.

The squatters live in tents in the churches. The tents are being provided by Catholic relief organisations. They have also been offered radios, television sets and computers.

Some background:
After all, sacrificing the traditions and sanctity of the Church is unnecesary - there are 380 mosques in Belgium and Islam is among the six religions officially recognized by the government, entitling it to, among other things, subsidies. And were the situation reversed, I wouldn't expect Muslims to change the interior of their mosque in order that Christians "not be offended" if allowed (which they wouldn't be) to have a Christian service inside a mosque! However, we can be quite certain that "A Muslim would never allow his mosque to be turned into a dormitory for non-believers." [emphasis mine]
And in Ireland (from zombie at littlegreenfootballs):

Who are these Afghan "refugees," and why are they afraid to return from Ireland to Afghanistan?

(Pregant pause).

Yes, you guessed it: they are former Taliban!

(Link may require registration, so I'll paste in a snippet here:)

Another of the failed asylum seekers, Sultan Kabir Chakari, a 45-year-old blind man from Kabul, fears that he will be persecuted if returned. He said he will be tortured in Afghanistan because of his role as an official in the Foreign Ministry under the Taliban regime.
Europe is slowly melting.

CAIR for Florida Governer?

Living in Florida, this is scary. Some selections from the article.

With the two leading candidates – one from each of the major parties – having dealings with CAIR, it is quite possible that this frightening scenario will occur.

...

Jim Davis is the frontrunner in the Democratic race for governor of the state of Florida. Currently he serves as U.S. Representative for the 11th Congressional District of Florida, which consists of portions of the Tampa-St. Petersburg area. He is also the frontrunner in the Democratic race for the radical Islamist vote.

In 1998, Sami Al-Arian donated $200 to the campaign to re-elect Congressman Davis to the House of Representatives. This bit of information was brought to the public’s attention, via the local television airwaves, in February of 2003, subsequent to charges from the FBI that Al-Arian and seven others were actively involved with PIJ. According to one report, this had been Al-Arian’s “first legal campaign contribution on record.” Other officeholders receiving Al-Arian donations, included: Cynthia McKinney, D-Ga; David Bonior, D-Mich; Tom Campbell, R-Calif; and Henry Hyde, R-Ill.

...

On May 28, 2005, CAIR-FL held its annual banquet at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando. The fundraiser asked patrons to help in the establishment of a CAIR office in Orlando, which would make it the third CAIR office in the state of Florida.

While they didn’t show up to the event, numerous high-ranking government officials wrote letters of support to CAIR for its fundraiser. One was from Governor Jeb Bush, one was from Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, and one was from AG Charlie Crist. Crist’s letter stated, “Thank you for your kind invitation to attend the CAIR Annual Banquet on May 28, 2005. Unfortunately, previous commitments will keep me from joining you.” And it ends, “I extend best wishes for a wonderful event… Sincerely, Charlie Crist.” The letter was addressed to Ahmed Bedier, and AG Crist signed his (Crist’s) name to it.

On February 25, 2006, CAIR held a press conference to announce the opening of its new Orlando office.

This is going to take some study. November is going to prove interesting.

Hillary Clinton is in the White House

Hillary Clinton is in the White House and a congressional hearing is sifting through the substantial and varied debris of the post-Bush regime to investigate what went right and, if anything did, how it could have possibly happened.
By Larry Gelbart
You have got to be kidding me.
Since May 2005, Gelbart has been a contributing blogger at The Huffington Post.

What nuggets of knowledge from this towering intellect:
Can One Person Make a Difference?

All it took was one person to lie to the world about the war-making ability of another nation.

Iraq was not completely free of WMDs. "10 or 12 sarin and mustard gas shells" have been found. Furthermore, it's of course possible that there are more we haven't found yet. There was also plenty of radioactive material Saddam could have given to terrorists to make a dirty bomb. So did Saddam Hussein have the capability of giving WMDs to terrorists? Yes, he did.

"It would be naive to the point of grave danger not to believe that, left to his own devices, Saddam Hussein will provoke, misjudge, or stumble into a future, more dangerous confrontation with the civilized world....He has supported and harbored terrorist groups, particularly radical Palestinian groups such as Abu Nidal, and he has given money to families of suicide murderers in Israel. ...We should not go to war because these things are in his past, but we should be prepared to go to war because of what they tell us about the future."

You know who said that back on 10/09/02? John Kerry. He was right the first time.

Feb. 4, 1998, Message from President Clinton to the Senate:
The PRESIDING OFFICER laid before the Senate the following message from the President of the United States...[The presidential message concluded with this assessment:]

The policies and actions of the Saddam Hussein regime continue to pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States, as well as to regional peace and security. (Signed William J. Clinton, President of the United States)

All it’s taking is one person to continue to cause the deaths and the maiming of thousands of his countrymen and women, while rarely, if ever, saying one word about the countless “enemy” who he has caused to be similarly killed or afflicted.

"enemy"? In scare quotes? Right. And no one wants to kill us.
All it’s taking is one person to bankrupt the present and the future America by promulgating a three year-old (and still counting) war at a cost of ten (and still counting) billion dollars a month.

Hokay Sparky. The US economy’s growth rate has been revised upwards. Yesterday morning, the Bureau of Economic Analysis released its latest estimates for real and nominal GDP growth...
All it’s taking is one person, who, making loyalty to his country, its citizenry and its military secondary to loyalty to one of his appointees, stubbornly refuses to fire the chief architect of a discredited, depraved waste of human and financial treasure.
This doesn't even make sense to me. What is discredited? What is depraved? What examples does he cite, since he is obviously talking about Karl Rove.
All it’s taking is one person who is prepared to defy the judgment of science thereby putting the entire planet at risk.

The real inconvenient truth. New data from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and studies appearing in two respected scientific journals raise serious questions about the science underlying alarmist predictions of global warming.
All it’s taking is one person to prove the adage, “There is nothing more dangerous than ignorance in action.”
Pot meet kettle. Why oh why did I go to the Huffington Post?

Back off man. I'm a scientist writer

Dean Yeager: Your theories are the worst kind of popular tripe, your methods are sloppy, and your conclusions are highly questionable. You are a poor scientist, Dr. Venkman Dan Brown!

My thoughts exactly on the Da Vinci code. Let's see.

Leonardo Da Vinci:
Notebooks 1,565 pages

Dan Brown:
The Da Vinci code 464 pages

Leonardo Da Vinci:
Inventions
War Machines

Flying Machines

Work Machines

Water and Land Machines

Leonardo the Architect

And Dan Brown cracked the "code". A man of Leonardo's intellect creating a smarmy, trite, soap operatic "code" that sits undetected since 1519 until Dan Brown figures it out using discredited and debunked sources like Holy Blood, Holy Grail.

Does Dan Brown have some swamp land to sell too?

Iraqi Child #2: "Sir, my name is Bush."

Harry Smith: "Are Americans good or bad?"

Iraqi Child: "Good"

Harry Smith: "They are good."

Iraqi Child: "Yes"

Iraqi Child #2: "What's your name?"

Harry Smith: "Huh?"

Iraqi Child #2: "What's your name?"

Harry Smith: "My name? Smith. Harry Smith."

Iraqi Child #2: "Sir, my name is Bush."

Harry Smith: "Your name is Bush?"

Iraqi Child #2 "Yes."

Harry Smith: (Pointing at child and chuckling) "He says his name is Bush."

What a creep. This child was obviously proud of his name. This story just amazed me. If the moms and dads in Iraq are naming their children after President Bush, this is stunning.

I have been away, moving!

I have been moving and I am now all settled in whoo hoo!!!!

Time to blog!
