A man of honor

I never knew what an unbelievable man he is. I am so humbled.
At the Vietnam Wall we saw something unbelievable. We noticed three small index cards at the base of the Wall. I knelt down for a closer look and noticed that a 4-star general's rank was pinned to each card.

The cards were personally addressed and said something like:

These are Yours - not mine! With Love and Respect, Your Platoon Leader, Pete Pace 1 Oct 2007

The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs had laid down his rank for his boys who died in Nam. Oct 1 was the day he stepped down as Chairman."

This is rich.

As soon as Bill Maher is threatened, he wants Rudy Giuliani to fix it for him!!!! Watch for it at 4:48.

At 2:04 he gives the definition of "audience". To listen, he says. In other words, I pontificate, YOU LISTEN AND OBEY, like you would tell a child.

My question is, where WAS security? Since my husband has worked security for tv and movies, he would never had let this situation get this far.

Go read the comments on hotair and newsbusters. Found this originally on hotair, but both places have great comments.

Fear of Radicalism Prompts Federal Panel to Recommend Closing Saudi School in Virginia

McLEAN, Va. — A private Islamic school supported by the Saudi government should be shut down until the U.S. government can ensure the school is not fostering radical Islam, a federal panel recommends.

So much for Bill O'Reilly's honor

I made the decision to quit appearing on the O’Reilly show in response to the poor handling of the Geraldo Rivera matter
I think she made the right decision. I am very sorry to see her go.

No more Bill for me. You cannot have credibility without decency and honor.

The sun has no sun spots.

Wouldn’t that be a hoot? The Goreacle trotting all over the place yelling about how we must do this and that to stop the warming, and the sun is already doing it for us.

Bwahahahahahahahahaha!!!

EXCELLENT!!

Coming to a town near you

MAIDUGURI, Nigeria -- It has been more than a year since Allabe Kaku Chibok lost his three daughters because he became a Christian -- paradoxically, he lost custody of them only after his ex-wife died.

An Islamic court in this city in the northern state of Borno granted custody to Chibok's wife's Muslim relatives after a chain of events that began in November 2004, when he allowed his daughters to attend the funeral service of their mother; she had divorced him when he left Islam.

The girls stayed for a week with Muslim relatives at his former wife's house, but when Chibok arrived there to take them to school, he found that a retired female police officer, Hajiya Maryam Aliyu, had helped his ex-wife's Muslim relatives abduct them.

Word Fun

oligarchy
oligarchy (OLI-gar-kee) noun

A government in which a few people control all power.

Let's have some fun with this word.

"I said I wanted BUTTER, not oligarchy! ick."

"Next time, if you have an oligarchy, excuse yourself! What a stench."

"For a good time, contact your local oligarchist. You won't regret it."

"Something between a bat and a wombat, the oligarch evolved."

"A little bleach, or toothpaste, will take that oligarchy right out."

The burb herd

Some interesting links:
Al-dura death was staged, finally admitted
The video is to be shown in court in France next month. If it turns out that the incident was staged (as so many of us believe), France 2's license should be revoked and Enderlin should be deported.

Chandra Levy a call girl and her killer known?

Police in the Chandra Levy murder mystery are investigating a link between Levy and "madam" Deborah Jeane Palfrey, whose "little black book" may contain the name of the man who killed Levy.

General Pace

Harkin, D-Iowa, said he wanted to give Pace a chance to amend his remarks in light of his retirement.

"It's a matter of leadership, and we have to be careful what we say," Harkin said.

Pace noted that the U.S. Military Code of Justice prohibits homosexual activity as well as adultery. Harkin said, "Well, then, maybe we should change that."

Change what? The moral code? Smooth move.

How about changing your EXPECTATIONS there Harkin D-Iowa? How about expecting people to NOT cheat? Or engage in behavior that the military has said, you know, umm, no thanks. You can keep Scrotum Man, thank you very much.

Sheesh.

Amadinnerjacket. Why was he allowed to travel?

Well, in my previous post, it seems that Iran might be a bit nervous. Good.

Over the last few days, I have been, like most people, completely disgusted that this country allowed Ammadinnerjacket even in country. I have wondered why the President would allow this to happen.

WHY?!?!?!?!

This feels like yet another slap in the face from Bush to the American people. Something akin to the immigration reform. He completely misunderstood and misjudged the American people. My personal belief is that the President sincerely wants to help decent people to succeed. I do not believe that he in any way has the Kennedy view of immigration, that he needs people to mow his lawn.

Now that some time has passed, and looking at some recent current events, and the fact that he is the PRESIDENT and might possibly have more information than I have, my opinion is different, although my emotional response to this event has not changed.

What changed?

Ammadinnerjacket and his rhetoric.

I am wondering that he came here to speak, made the same speeches, clearly defining his insanity. I noticed the lizards on LGF liveblogging the event, that they predicted what he would say before he said it. He is now recorded for all time his goofy crap. And if you can watch the recap, he looked genuinely surprised when people laughed when he said that there were no homosexuals in Iran.

I am sure that Bush understands that he was making threats, calling people to come to Islam or die, and all the rest. If WE knew what he was going to say, then Bush did. If WE knew his intent, then Bush did.

I am starting to suspect, that the President is two steps ahead. He knew the Israelis were going to take out the Syrian weapons cache or whatever it was. He knows that the Iranians are now VERY nervous and probably very pissed off that Ammadinnerjacket came over here and poked the bear.

World events are going to get very interesting.

We will win. That is the plan.

Ammadinnerjacket wants his 12th imam? Feh. Guess again.

One of the things I am learning in Catholic class is that God can make something good out of anything. He will for this horrible event that just happened too. What it is, I don't know, but it will.

Contrast and compare

Silence and Panic
One of India's top ranking generals assigned to liaise with the Iranian military recently returned to New Delhi from several days in Tehran - in a state of complete amazement.

"Everyone in the government and military can only talk of one thing," he reports. "No matter who I talked to, all they could do was ask me, over and over again, ‘Do you think the Americans will attack us?' ‘When will the Americans attack us?' ‘Will the Americans attack us in a joint operation with the Israelis?' How massive will the attack be?' on and on, endlessly. The Iranians are in a state of total panic."

And that was before September 6. Since then, it's panic-squared in Tehran. The mullahs are freaking out in fear. Why? Because of the silence in Syria.

On September 6, Israeli Air Force F-15 and F-16s conducted a devastating attack on targets deep inside Syria near the city of Dayr az-Zawr. Israel's military censors have muzzled the Israeli media, enforcing an extraordinary silence about the identity of the targets. Massive speculation in the world press has followed, such as Brett Stephens' Osirak II? in yesterday's (9/18) Wall St. Journal.

Gold
Hmmm ... seems somebody with an awful lot of money has put some markers into play in the stock market, betting on an enormous drop in share prices with 4 weeks of 9/4. We’re talking 50% or more, or that somebody is going to be out a whole huge lotta money - about 700 MILLION DOLLARS (damn, we need a Dr. Evil emoticon for moments like this!)

Now, this has happened before. Once. Just before 9/11. Yep, the terrorists went short, and made a fortune when the market tumbled.

The entity or individual offering these sales can only make money if the market drops 30%-50% within the next four weeks. If the market does not drop, the entity or individual involved stands to lose over $1 billion just for engaging in these contracts! Clearly, someone knows something big is going to happen BEFORE the options expire on Sept. 21.

I slog through the blogs so you don't have to. WHAT was up Sept 6, 2007? What was accomplished? Probably much. We will never know for certain. Read them both.

Michelle Malkin and the outrage for today

From Michelle Malkin's site. She has a complete round up of events in NY today.

Liberal Fairy Tales

Oh my this was a hoot!
Once upon a time, in a land they called America, a little girl was born.

This little girl was so very beautiful, so exceptional, that her loving parents named her Snow White. Truly, her lustrous black hair and limpid dark eyes were the perfect compliment to her exquisite ivory skin. And as lovely as she was on the outside, she was even more beautiful within; her sweet, sunny personality absolutely melted everyone who saw her.

In her early childhood, her parents saw that she was taught all the important things — loving obedience, respect for others, politeness and ladylike behavior, and a child-like faith in God. These things she actually liked, and though she was quite playful and sunny, she exuded character and intelligence.

Then she met the Seven Dwarfs.

They’d been tagged with this name because they seemed so weird and insignificant; but they always clustered together, bound by strange, liberal and sometimes seditious beliefs. Some of them were teachers and others members of what was called a "civil liberties union." Somehow, they steadily gained and exerted mysterious influence. Their names were Sneaky, Dopey, Smarmy, Angry, Sleazy, Grouchy, and Dork.
Pat Boone has a way with words. Didn't know that was by Pat Boone, did you? Well, read it all. Good points!

In keeping with the memorial theme.....

The unidentified substance that was found splashed on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial earlier this month was the result of vandalism, the U.S. Park Police said today.

...

“We’re purposefully going to take our time,” he said.
PURPOSEFULLY take our TIME?
What, is that code for "we-are-going-to-drag-our-feet-until-you-all-forget-about-it"?

Don't bet on it.

Where is Elvis when you need him?

USS Arizona Memorial

Creating the Memorial

The Origins

After the end of World War II, many individuals recognized the need for a memorial to the dead of December 7th, 1941. Navy personnel sought a tribute to the sailors who died at Pearl Harbor, others sought to commemorate the Japanese attack itself.

......

Fundraising

The public law stipulated that the monument would be built without federal funding. The Pacific War Memorial Commission was tasked with raising the $500,000 required it build the structure. Several organizations and individuals helped in the effort to raise the required amount. In 1958, the Territory of Hawaii contributed the initial $50,000. On December 3rd, 1958 the popular television series, “This is Your Life” hosted by Ralph Edwards featured Samuel Fuqua, Medal of Honor recipient and the senior surviving officer from the USS Arizona. This broadcast kicked off the public fundraising campaign. Over $95,000 was raised for the new permanent structure. Three years later, singing idol Elvis Presley hosted a benefit concert on March 25, 1961 at Pearl Harbor’s Bloch Arena, raising over $64,000. The Fleet Reserve Association (FRA) partnered with the Revell Model Company to sell plastic models of the battleship USS Arizona. Enclosed inside the kit was donation information on the instruction sheet. This led to a contribution of over $40,000. Finally, on September 6th, 1961, freshman Hawaii Senator Daniel Inouye secured federal funding, which contribute the final $150,000 to complete the construction. In the end, public money was required to meet the goal of the PWMC. The legislation stated that the Memorial was “to be maintained in honor and commemoration of the members of the Armed Forces of the United States who gave their lives to their country during the attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii on December 7, 1941.”

United 93 Memorial

The people coming to Shanksville have changed the temporary memorial; visitors have adopted the custom of leaving things behind. The fence is covered with tiny tributes, everything from firemen's helmets to baseball caps to crucifixes to prayer cards. Near ground-level it is not uncommon to see collections of Matchbox cars and other toys left by children. There is a 15-foot cross by the flagpoles now, an array of benches bearing the names of the dead, and a set of 40 small wooden "Freedom Angels." The county administers the temporary memorial, removing and storing mementos when they become weather-beaten and keeping a catalogue of every item that has been left behind.

Let the people of Shanksville manage the 93 memorial, and keep the feds out of it. Who wants the Crecsent of Embrace on this site? The design "winner" is crap. It would have to IMPROVE to become crap.

And WHERE is there a patron celebrity for this cause? When Elvis died, any sense of decency died with him. Who knew his politics? The country called him and he went, without a whimper, even if it meant the loss of his career (which never happened).

We need a patron for this memorial.

And who knew that Elvis contributed so much to the Arizona Memorial?

Thank you, Elvis.

Countdown to when Whoopi melts down in 3,2,1

Whoopi Goldberg used her first day on the daytime chat show Tuesday to defend football star Michael Vick in his dogfighting case.

Goldberg said that "from where he comes from" in the South, dogfighting isn't that unusual.
....
In the Vick discussion, Goldberg served notice that she won't shy away from controversy.

Co-host Joy Behar looked horrified at Goldberg.

"How about dog torture and dog murdering?" Behar asked.

For many people, dogs are sport, Goldberg replied, and it appeared it took awhile for Vick to realize that he was up against serious charges.
The definition of moral equivalence. Vick should be EXCUSED for his behavior because dog fighting is "where he comes from"? Are you kidding? Joy Behar was right to be aghast at those comments. And Whoopi did NOT answer the torture and murder question, that dogs are sport? That was her answer? SPORT? Did Vick NOT know it was illegal? Yes he did. He tried to get out of the charges.

BaBa WaWa is already figuring out how to dump Whoopi, she sees it coming now.

Let's put the fox in charge of the hen house

Finally, I’d ask two simple questions: (a) Should Tom Lantos, a Holocaust survivor, stay silent rather than ask Rep. Ellison why he hasn’t denounced the Muslim American Society for the anti-semitic remarks posted on their website? and (b) Shouldn’t Rep. Ellison be required to chastise the Minnesota chapter of the Muslim American Society before being admitted to this task force?
There is NO reason for Ellison to be on this task force.

Hence, the name of this blog.

Bush Address the Troops

Bush spoke to the troops today. I am continually uplifted when he speaks the way he spoke today. He said that Americans will not abandon Iraqis. He is right, especially for this American.

For stories like this:
A routine meeting on Aug. 18 became a saga of tragedy and heroism when a young Iraqi man gave his life to save his family and his U.S. Army friends.

The soldiers he saved that day say they will never forget the man’s sacrifice.
A Muslim in God's Heaven, I say.

And lest we forget:

Katie Couric must be spitting nickels to be upstaged this way, by the way, with the visit from the President and the warm welcome he received. Her rage must be something to behold today. All that planning and promotion, right down the drain.

Great minds think alike!

Dennis Prager
Only strong moral religion can defeat strong immoral religion. To his credit, when I challenged the aforementioned Sam Harris by noting that religious Jews and Christians are far more likely to confront Islamists than secularists are, he agreed that this is indeed the case. But with Islamic religious violence increasing, Western secularism increasing, and liberal religion merely echoing secular values and its non-confrontationalism, there will be fewer and fewer people capable of confronting religious evil. And with the ascendance of religious evil, the case for atheism will seem even more compelling.

Dan Abrams
The August 27th broadcast of MSNBC's Live with Dan Abrams slammed CNN's "God's Warriors" as biased shoddy journalism, with host Dan Abrams saying at the outset that the three-part series "was not what it claimed or promised to be." In the segment, titled "CNN's Holy war?", Abrams also said "CNN should have called it what it was, a defense of Islamic fundamentalism and the worst type of moral relativism."

According to Abrams, CNN's Christiane Amanpour, "avoided getting bogged down in objectivity." (See the full video clip below.)

They both nail it great. Abrams has on some Muslima who keeps trying the smoke and mirrors bit, deflect the conversation to the Jews, but Abrams would have none of it. And Dennis Prager is correct in his analysis as well.

Well, I am going out to buy some more ammo now!

Wizbang did a bang up job!

The bottom line is, Katrina's storm surge did not wash the wall away. As you may remember, water had been seeping under the floodwall at the break location for about a year before Katrina. The ground under the levee was soaked and ready to give at any moment...

What I will say next will probably completely throw you. Katrina saved probably over 50,000 lives.

That levee was doomed. If it had failed without notice, the death toll would have been measured in tens of thousands. There would be no evacuation, no preparation, no Feds at all. (such that they were anyway) no Coast Guard in choppers etc. Tens of thousands of people would have been dead in hours and tens of thousands more would have died on 120 degree rooftops waiting for rescue. It would have been unimaginable. - More unimaginable.

"Luckily" -and I groan when I say that- Katrina allowed the city to be evacuated.

Read it all.

The bottom line is, we are arguing over the WRONG thing, apparently. Not Bush, or Nagin, or FEMA, but the incompetence of building the levee. The federal government has dumped so much money into New Orleans and building the levees but they were built wrong from the get-go. Who benefited? Who got all that money?

This is the issue that needs to be resolved.

A Christmas Story

My favorite movie, perhaps of all time.
An illegal alien suspected of causing a traffic accident and killing movie director Bob Clark, whose "A Christmas Story" has come alongside "It's a Wonderful Life" and "Miracle on 34th Street" as a perennial holiday must-watch, has been placed under an immigration hold by federal authorities.
Good.

I was so disgusted that this wonderful film maker was killed, along with his son, for something so preventable. I cannot imagine how the Clark family feels. I have my tv on during Christmas for the 24 hours of A Christmas Story.

God bless Bob Clark and his family. I will be thinking of him and his family this year, without a doubt.

Dutch Bible Museum Goes 'Multicultural'

And thanks for the hat tip! I suspect that NO blogs and NO MSM in the English-speaking world is covering this story (which I why I sent it in).
Well zombie, I am not much, but I am linking to it. Here is a taste:

THE HAGUE, 22/08/07 - The former Open Air Bible Museum near Nijmegen has received 500,000 euro in subsidy from oil state Oman. With this, the museum will expand to include a House of Koran.

The Open Air Bible Museum recently changed its name to Museumpark Orientalis. Along with its name, the museum’s objective has changed. Formerly a traditional Catholic pilgrim’s place, the museum is now to be transformed to an ‘intercultural museum’ for Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
Um, I don't know about you, but the pagan worship of a false moon god does not belong near the worship of God Almighty or the King of Kings.

Although I do not tie my worship to a place or thing or object, this is an effort to enforce Islam over Judaism or Christianity, and eradicate them both.

I am reminded of the 20 million given to the Louvre for an "Islamic" wing.

And just exactly HOW is Islam enforced in a church? Well, let's just ask the people who lived in Constantinople: [emphasis mine]
The Ottoman troops who beating their drums step over the breaches in the fallen walls, overwhelm the Genovese and Venetian and Spanish defenders, hack them on to death with scimitars, then burst into the cathedral and behead even newborn babies. They amuse themselves by snuffing out the candles with their little severed heads... It lasted from the dawn to the afternoon that massacre. It abated only when the Grand Vizier mounted the pulpit of St. Sophia and said to the slaughterers: “Rest. Now this temple belongs to Allah”.

Meanwhile the city burns, the soldiery crucify and hang and impale, the Janissaries rape and butcher the nuns (four thousand in a few hours) or put the survivors in chains to sell them at the market of Ankara. And the servants prepare the Victory Feast. The feast during which (in defiance of the Prophet) Mehmet II got drunk on the wines of Cyprus and, having a soft spot for young boys, sent for the firstborn of the Greek Orthodox Grand Duke Notaras.

A fourteen year-old adolescent known for his beauty. In front of everyone he raped him, and after the rape he sent for his family. His parents, his grandparents, his uncles, his aunts and cousins. In front of him he beheaded them. One by one. He also had all the altars destroyed, all the bells melted down, all the churches turned into mosques or bazaars. Oh, yes. That’s how Constantinople became Istanbul.

Pope Benedict, we need you.

A new book is causing a storm of controversy by labelling children as annoying and pointless

I found the hardest thing to give up when I had my children was my personal freedom.

...

Get over these early hurdles and you hit the big one: how to keep your child amused and happy.

This will fast become one of your most hated jobs. The moment you give birth you can forget leisurely lie-ins, last-minute trips or a spontaneous roll in the hay with your partner.

Not husband, or man. PARTNER.

Moonbattery at its zenith.

Yes this woman probably never should have had children. She has no business speaking for anyone else.

I cannot have children. The doctors could do nothing for me. I would have traded with this woman anytime. I have been denied life's greatest treasure and she treats it like trash. She should be kept far, far away from children.

It never occurred to this broad if she had been a better person or mother, maybe her life would not have been so miserable. And she is clearly miserable. Not a happy relationship (partner my behind), and her kids live their life and she lives hers, she says.

Watching my foster daughter's kids grow up is one of the pleasures of my life. They enrich me and my life. It is a chore, the author claims, to help your kids do their homework? Why? She says she and her "partner" were looking forward to an art opening and had to take the kids along. And that was a bad thing to her. Why? So what if they grumble? They will remember it fondly I am sure, as an outing with their parents.

There is nothing wrong feeling this way. What is wrong is lecturing the rest of us, with her failures and misery, that she is right on this topic.

TV airing for Islam's story of Christ

Hotair.com linked to this:

Emphasis mine.
There was no manger, Christ is not the Messiah, and the crucifixion never happened. A forthcoming ITV documentary will portray Jesus as Muslims see him.

With the Koran as a main source and drawing on interviews with scholars and historians, the Muslim Jesus explores how Islam honours Christ as a prophet but not as the son of God.

Representatives from mainstream Anglican and Catholic organisations were invited to take part in the film, to be broadcast on Sunday, but
nobody was available, Mr Ashraf said.

However, Patrick Sookhdeo, an Anglican canon and spokesman for the Barnabas Fund, which works with persecuted Christians, accused broadcasters of double standards. Mr Sookhdeo, who was born a Muslim and converted to Christianity in 1969, said: "How would the Muslim community respond if ITV made a programme challenging Muhammad as the last prophet?"

The Koran's denial of Jesus's divinity was "unacceptable". "On the last day the Koran says Jesus will destroy all the crosses. How can we praise that?"
Exactly. How can we praise that? And NOBODY was available? Yeah right.

And yes, I would LOVE to see a documentary on the truth about Mo. I do challenge that assertion, that he was a prophet of any kind. In fact, we need something like that.

The Windsor Hezbollah Billboard:CBS Violates Federal Law

From Debbie Schlussel

What's disturbing is that CBS owns the billboard and allowed it to be posted. This is a violation of federal law here in America. It makes no difference that the billboard is in Canada. Federal law prohibits providing material support, including communications (such as a billboard), to terrorist groups. Hezbollah is not only on the State Department Terrorist List, it is also a Specially Designated Global Terrorist Entity by the U.S. Department of Treasury.

Therefore, with the posting of this billboard supporting Hezbollah, CBS has gone beyond the bounds of free speech and entered the boundaries of illegality.

Read the whole thing.

Hence, the title of my blog

Good grief.
“Welcome to Venezuela, Mr. Penn. What drives him is consciousness, the search for new paths,” Chavez said Wednesday in a televised speech. “He’s one of the greatest opponents of the Iraq invasion.”…
So what if Sean Penn is a great opponent of the war on terror? What impact does that have anywhere on anyone at any time? Is he an elected official? Is he a great author with influence a la Mark Steyn or Victor Davis Hanson? Can he string two coherent thoughts together? Or is he just a flaming doofus?

Birds of a feather I guess.

Obama Says Some Have `hijacked' Faith

Again, from Drudge.

What a maroon. He is moving further left. There is no question he is a Muslim and a black supremacist to boot. He is trailing Hillary and she must be putting the screws to his money people since he seems to be starting to squeal. He will be lucky to get the VP slot.

"There was even a time when the Christian Coalition determined that its number one legislative priority was tax cuts for the rich," Obama said. "I don't know what Bible they're reading, but it doesn't jibe with my version."

Obama is a member of the United Church of Christ, a church of about 1.2 million members that is considered one the most liberal of the mainline Protestant groups.

Oh yeah, and lest we forget, he wants "people of faith".
Ummm, WHICH people of faith? Recently, at church, the Catholic church I attend for the kids (I am Methodist), the priest spoke on how the death of Pope John Paul brought people together. And he was right. I watched the funeral and the viewing on tv. Although, not a Catholic, I felt a deep loss, and was very moved. And when Cho-whats-his-face murdered all those kids, again, it was Christianity that brought us together, since at the viewing everyone recited all the same prayers regardless of faith. (And then, of course a MUSLIM spoke first at that gathering due to political correctness run amok at Virginia Tech, and the mullahs privately told their followers that the kaffirs deserved what they got).

So, for me at least, I am comforted by Christian (any denomination) prayer, but muslim? No thanks.

So who hijacked what here?

Well, I always said Brian Williams was a jerk

I found this on Drudge.

One of the small indignities of a high-paying television job is rising after getting home from Texas at 3:05 a.m. for a conversation about why your ratings are going south.

Brian Williams dutifully does it, weary voice and all, even if he and NBC can't fully explain why after two years on top his "Nightly News" broadcast has suddenly been eclipsed by ABC and Charles Gibson.
Can't fully explain it? CAN'T FULLY EXPLAIN IT?!?!?!?!?!?!

Where do these people live, in another solar system? How about insulting the troops? Multiple times? So badly, that you received a deluge of comments and had to issue a huge apology, including an mass email to all of us who complained?

Oh! And can we forget THIS?

The leftist bias is palpable,THAT is why you are hemorrhaging viewers.

There. Fixed it for you, you ignoramus. How hard was that?

Trent Lott. Feh.

The Republican whip, Trent Lott of Mississippi, who supports the bill, said: “Talk radio is running America. We have to deal with that problem.”

LBJ: "If I've lost Cronkite, I've lost Middle America."

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

HOW does "talk radio" run America? How exactly does that work? What, does Rush and Sean come to my house and tell me what to do? They TALK. That is all. I tune in. I disagree sometimes and agree sometimes. I don't listen other times. I have a life.

Well, there are efforts to remove Lindsay Graham and I am betting Trent is on his way out too.

President Bush was so buoyed by the warm reception he was given in Albania that he immediately gave all 3 million Albanians American citizenship, provided they learn Spanish. The offer was withdrawn when Bush found out most Albanians haven't broken any U.S. laws.
Enough said.

Although she gets harsh on tv, to read her is to like her. And if you do not like her, you can always fisk her.

This is an Apology??? Akon’s “Sorry” Song to Gwen Stefani

I was one of the people that contacted Verizon and you know, they called back to apologize. The lady I spoke with hadn't seen that disgusting video and didn't want to. She probably had an earful from other customers. She was very pleasant (as was I, I did NOT expect a call, I just sent an email) and they cared a lot about their business and their customers. We chatted briefly, and she might have been rolling her eyes, but she didn't SOUND that way. I think Verizon responded appropriately to their customers. And I will remain a customer now, since they responded so well. The quote:

Why doesn’t anybody wanna take blame

Verizon backed out, disgracing my name
Only you disgraced yourself, Akon. Go away with your three wives.

The Gospel of John & Yoko: The Origins of Mad Morality

I found this in the pajamasmedia archives. Emphasis mine throughout. This was such an EXCELLENT piece! Go read the whole thing.
My research has led me to the excerpts from Yoko Ono and John Lennon’s articles published in the 1972 editions of Sundance magazine. Although attributed to John and Yoko jointly, they were written mostly by Yoko who clearly was the one wearing the pants. It should be a required read for everyone who would like to know where their otherwise lazy and cynical leftist opponents get their passionate idealistic convictions from.

Here is a condensed list (the full text is here):

1. A collective hallucination can create objective reality.
2. “The fenceless and doorless world is soon to come.” Obviously it’s a good thing.
3. Middle America is stupid and “afraid of youth and the future.”
4. People work not because they’re glad to have a job but because they’re being bullied into working by the “tyranny and suppression of the capitalists.” (Karl Marx called and left a message).
5. Immature youth are “the aware ones”; traditional education and thought discipline is the enemy.
6. Material reality is evil.
7. “Come together rather than claim independence.”
8. “Feel rather than think.”
9. Immature and irresponsible behavior is a virtue.
10. Possessions are immoral. “Any possession that is more than what you need belongs to someone who needs it.”
11. A worldwide revolution (“progress”) is inevitable, and such a future “cannot be anything but brightness.”
12. To resist the revolution is immoral because it prolongs people’s suffering.
13. A society based on competitiveness and logic produces “hypocrisy, violence, and chaos.”
14. A society based on love rather than reasoning will produce “balance, peace, and contentment.”
15. To remove evil from this world men must be feminized (if you liked this one you will also like “The DaVinci Code” which is a 500-pages-long regurgitation of this very doctrine).

Absurdities may be a good material for rock lyrics, but presented as a life philosophy they are, well, absurd. Nonetheless, in the absence of logic and reason whose use had been abolished by liberal education, this psychobabble has become Holy Scripture of the new “progressive” religion. John’s fame and his unfortunate martyrdom have turned these mind games into unquestionable prophecies. They might as well be called the Gospel of John and Yoko, from which generations of protesters have been religiously drawing their strength and moral fortitude. Can you say, “Imagine no religion?”
I imagine I can WRITE like this one day. Until then, however, I can only copy and paste and hopefully someone else will enjoy his (her?) work.

Changing my vote. Chuck Norris for President

First and foremost, however, my greatest priorities will be to …

Personally smoke out bin Laden by myself and round-house kick him all the way back to America, where my United Fighting Arts Federation will handle the justice issues.

Make all Chuck Norris facts come true (well, not quite all of them – I'm a happily, married man!)

Looking over my campaign promises, I'm sure my liberal friends are even now rejoicing that I'm not really running for president. However, my hope is still out that Newt will jump into the race!
Good for Chuck!

Oh for crying out loud!

Senators this afternoon are hiding behind closed doors, drafting a massive, 400-page amendment that will replace huge chunks of the Bush-Kennedy bill currently being debated. Senate leaders are hoping to use the new substitute amendment to reverse changes made over the last 24-hours they don't like, such as the Cornyn amendment on information sharing and the Dorgan amendment that sunsets the Y guest worker program.
Have they not learned their lesson? Enough is enough on this.

Freedom is Slavery

In the comments, Ypp left a series of thesis/antithesis pairs that highlight the fundamental contradictions inherent in Multiculturalism and political correctness.

I’ve reworded and reorganized them a bit, but the list below is still Ypp’s handiwork.

The Ten Antitheses of Political Correctness

1. Materialism is not about matter, but about suppressing ideas.
2. Communism is not about common wealth, but about depriving people of any personal possessions.
3. Socialism is not about society, but about depriving people of the means of production.
4. Human rights are not personal rights, but collective obligations.
5. Tolerance is not about mutual respect, but about the prohibition of opinions.
6. Multiculturalism is not about cultures, but about the repudiation of nationhood.
7. Energy policy is not about the distribution of energy, but about cutting off energy supplies.
8. Health care is not about health, but about control of our consumption.
9. Family planning is not about families, but about abortions.
10. Self-loathing is not about repentance, but about depriving others of their moral foundation.

Whenever they start by improving something, they finish by depriving people of it.

I cannot add any more.

Obama Wants 'People of Faith'

Sen. Barack Obama has launched a religious outreach web site, the first one among all the Democratic presidential candidates.
Oh my! And then:
According to the Washington Post, former Sen. John Edwards has a "moral leadership" web site, and Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton will soon have a faith-oriented online presence soon.
I cannot think of two more non-religious people in the country. Obama has established himself as a black supremecist so what is this now from him? I call taqiyya. As for her? Religion? BWHAHAHAHAHA giggle, snort, tee hee. Since when? To be so blatantly obvious just seems so phony. The President, for all his missteps and faults, does not seem phony about his faith. Not one whit. These two couldn't find a true church if Jesus were leading the way Himself.

I just don't like her.

Michelle Obama waved away criticism of her husband's lack of experience. In the Democratic primaries, the freshman senator will face off against more experienced politicians, such as Sens. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., and Joe Biden, D-Del., and former Sen. John Edwards, D-N.C.

"He has great experience," she said. "He's been in the state legislature; he's been a community organizer. He's been a civil rights attorney. ... Need I go on?"

Ummm, yes please.
I want a commander-in-chief, an EXPERIENCED commander, to lead us during a time of war. Your husband fails on that count, so please, DO go on. He was a community organizer. BFD. I was a Girl Scout leader, that does not qualify me or him as POTUS.
"This [is a] rare opportunity where spirit, vision, hope, uniqueness, experience combine in this one individual at this point in time," she continued. "It's his time."
No, it is not. He is NOT entitled to this position.
"I'm going to have to make a range of changes in my life. I've reduced my work hours at work. I will probably have to take a leave at some point. I will probably not be able to maintain my commitments,"
Ya think?!?! Your husband is running for President and it might, JUST MIGHT, have an impact on your life? You want to be First Lady and you might have to make a change in your life?
"He's going to do what's right for ... the country. He's going to speak out. And he's going to, you know, implement his views as he sees fit. ... I see no conflict in that."
He's going to SPEAK OUT?!?!?!?!?!?! WTF?!?!?!?!?!?! No, you moron, a President LEADS, he represents the country, exactly WHO is he speaking out against? He is going to implement HIS views? And what about ours? That is not a conflict.

You are an idiot. 2008 cannot come soon enough.

BWHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA

It's confirmed. Brian Williams is a jerk.

pour leur dire qu'ils peuvent compter sur notre amitié.

But what was revealing was the spontaneous applause and cheering that broke out among the crowd when he uttered the words "to say to them that they can count on our friendship": "pour leur dire qu'ils peuvent compter sur notre amitié."

Thank you France. Thank you Sarkozy!

Europe (finally!) gets the War on Terror

Emphasis mine throughout.

It looks like the Dems have backed the WRONG ideological horse for 2008. Read the whole article, I am calling out a few choice paragraphs.

If Europe is swinging more pro-America, then the Dems whole schtick of "anti-Bush, the war is lost, America is a pariah" goes the way of the baby buggy and spittoon. And they will end up looking the fools for it.

If France elects Nicolas Sarkozy, watch for the tide to turn our way. Germany already tossed out Schroeder.
One signal of new realism in Europe is a public call by the German news magazine Der Spiegel to tone down the over-the-top anti-American cat-calling that has obsessed the German press in recent years. That was followed by two major puff-pieces for Chancellor Merkel's effort to reconnect with America.

In France, Nicolas Sarkozy has started what he hopes to be his final sprint to the Presidency by criticizing the "1968 generation," which includes all the recent leaders of the EuroLeft. "1968" refers to the year of student rebellion that brought people like Schroeder and Joschka Fischer to power, just as in the United States the Sixties Left launched Bill and Hillary Clinton.

Both Merkel and Sarkozy are "welfare-state conservatives" rather than ideologically pure socialists. They can see clearly the suicidal limits of the multiculti Left, particularly its support for uncontrollable millions of anti-Western migrants, fresh dependent voters for the welfare state. They also see the looming fiscal limits of the social welfare state, as the Euro Boomer generation retires while a host of poorer nations are joining the European Union. Those nations cannot get the massive handouts that were routinely channeled to France. The money isn't there.
The word "cynical" and "immoral" were used by Sarkozy recently to describe the Boomer Left. Europe's vacation from reality is reaching its natural limits, and public opinion is sobering up fast.

That does not mean that present US policy is going to work without course adjustments. The Iraq War may turn out to be much like the Korean War, a test of American resolve, and also of the limits of American commitment to an important but remote war. At the end of the Korean War, American forces withdrew from North Korea but not from the South. Because of that American willingness to hold firm, South Korea grew into a formidable bulwark against Asian Communist expansion, as it remains to this day. China's new prosperity can be attributed to the democratic capitalist successes of South Korea, Japan, Singapore and Taiwan, all of them dependent upon American support. We cannot predict the outcome in Iraq, but somewhere in the Middle East a defensible line will emerge against jihadist Iran, and perhaps against newer threats.

Europe imports far too much oil from the Gulf to evade the obvious: A vital need for a renewed alliance with the United States against totalitarian aggressors with strategic weapons.

Call it Cold War Two --- if we are lucky and keep our wits. But we must expect continental Europe to play a more active and constructive role for its own defense than it did in the last sixty years.

Thank you gay activists

Time's attention, like the BBC's, has been caught by the legal battles underway to decriminalize incest between consenting adults. An article last month by Time reporter Michael Lindenberger titled "Should Incest Be Legal?" highlights the case of Paul Lowe, an Ohio man convicted of incest for having sex with his 22-year-old stepdaughter. Lowe has appealed his conviction to the Supreme Court, making Lawrence the basis of his argument. In Lawrence, the court had ruled that people "are entitled to respect for their private lives" and that under the 14th Amendment, "the state cannot demean their existence or control their destiny by making their private sexual conduct a crime." If that was true for the adult homosexual behavior in Lawrence, why not for the adult incestuous behavior in the Ohio case?
And then continues
...it is worth remembering, the Supreme Court didn't just invalidate all state laws making homosexual sodomy a crime. It also overruled its own decision just 17 years earlier (Bowers v. Hardwick, 1986) upholding such laws. If the court meant what it said in Lawrence -- that states are barred from "making . . . private sexual conduct a crime" -- it will not take that long for laws criminalizing incest to go by the board as well. Impossible? That's what they used to say about normalizing homosexuality and legalizing same-sex marriage.

In Germany, the Green Party is openly supporting the Stubings in their bid to decriminalize incest. According to the BBC, incest is no longer a criminal offense in Belgium, Holland, and France. Sweden already permits half-siblings to marry.
Now, more than ever, I am against gay marriage. And then there is this:

McGreevey to Enter Episcopal Seminary

And you treated your wife and family just so well, now didn't you? Is this Brokeback Mountain redux? Mistreat and disrespect women and children, that's ok, but reward "man love" as a holy thing? Isn't this the same scenario as the plot of that insipid movie?

God help us all from Obama

Found this link perusing Drudge.

What a maroon.

This article was a difficult read in that it had absolutely no flow. The topic in one paragraph did not lead to the next. I picked a few key quotes for analysis. Much of the article seemed to contradict itself and there were no conclusions. Drudge's headline indicated that Obama found Christ. I see none of that in this article. Emphasis mine throughout.

He [Obama] had sampled various faiths but adopted none until he met Mr. Wright, a dynamic pastor who preached Afrocentric theology, dabbled in radical politics and delivered music-and-profanity-spiked sermons.
Sorry, but the Bible is very clear that God loves us all.
The Christianity that Mr. Obama adopted at Trinity has infused not only his life, but also his campaign.
Obama's "Christianity" is different than mine? The type of Christianity that he "adopted"? What does that mean, to "adopt" Christianity. I "adopt" a dog from the pound, not my God.
The day after the party for Mr. Wright, Mr. Obama stood in an A.M.E. church pulpit in Selma, Ala., and cast his candidacy in nothing short of biblical terms, implicitly comparing himself to Joshua, known for his relative inexperience, steadfast faith and completion of Moses’ mission of delivering his people to the Promised Land.

“Be strong and have courage, for I am with you wherever you go,” Mr. Obama said in paraphrasing God’s message to Joshua.
Obama, the saviour and messiah. Spare us. You are not a deliverer.
Sarah Hussein Obama, who is his stepgrandmother but whom Mr. Obama calls his grandmother, still rises at 5 a.m. to pray before tending to her crops and the three orphans she has taken in.

“I am a strong believer of the Islamic faith,” Ms. Obama, 85, said in a recent interview in Kenya.
Hokay. Now which is it? Christianity or islam.
He [Mr. Wright, the minister of Obama] was also interested in the world beyond his own; in 1984, he traveled to Cuba to teach Christians about the value of nonviolent protest and to Libya to visit Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi, along with the Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan. Mr. Wright said his visits implied no endorsement of their views.
Oh yeah right. And I have swampland in Florida to sell you. He goes to Cuba (oh and exactly HOW did he do that when you cannot travel there?), Libya, and Farrakhan. No extremism there! No condemnation of the brutalities in Cuba, Libya, and of the wretched stench that flows from Calypso Louis.
Mr. Wright preached black liberation theology, which interprets the Bible as the story of the struggles of black people, whom by virtue of their oppression are better able to understand Scripture than those who have suffered less.
So the Bible was written exclusively for black people and only THEY get it? Meaning that whites "suffered less"? That would be a big surprise to Pope Benny! So, he is saying he has absolute moral authority here? And no white slaves ever existed?
This book illuminates a subject once well-known in the history of the West but which is now somewhat neglected: the enslavement, over several centuries, of tens of thousands of white Christian Europeans and (later) Americans in Muslim North Africa -- or the so-called “Barbary” states of Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Tripoli. Over the course of 10 centuries, tens of thousands of these unfortunates became the possessions of Muslims in North Africa courtesy of the feared Barbary pirates. These pirates cruised the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean in search of European and, later, American ships to pillage and plunder.

To the many members who, like the Obamas, are the first generation in their families to achieve financial success, the church warns against “middleclassness,” its term for selfish individualism, and urges them to channel their gains back into the community.
Obama is a FIRST generation of success? Um, no. Selfish INDIVIDUALISM? Ok, so now he is promoted collectivism? Nay, shall we say communism? Perhaps Marxism? And how does a poor, black family get to own slaves themselves? By being poor? Or perhaps by trafficking in slaves themselves?
Mr. Obama reassures liberal audiences about the role of religion in public life, and he tells conservative Christians that he understands why abortion horrifies them and why they may prefer to curb H.I.V. through abstinence instead of condoms. AIDS has spread in part because “the relationship between men and women, between sexuality and spirituality, has broken down, and needs to be repaired,” he said to thunderous applause in December at the megachurch in California led by the Rev. Rick Warren, a best-selling author.
So Messiah Obama gets to speak in a church, and yet can you imagine if President Bush did? And this paragraph seems to suggest that Obama has one message for liberals, and another for conservatives. Way to be consistent and bring people together! Not. He tells conservatives he "understands" their feelings. Big whoop. Apparently he does not share those opinions, let alone act in a conservative interest.
Congregants respond by saying critics [of Mr Wright's church] are misreading the church’s tenets, that it is a warm and accepting community and is not hostile to whites.
And still, the article goes to great lengths to ensure we are aware that:
  • Mr. Wright, a dynamic pastor who preached Afrocentric theology, dabbled in radical politics
  • Mr. Wright preached black liberation theology, which interprets the Bible as the story of the struggles of black people, whom by virtue of their oppression
And the mission statement of this church, until the heat was turned up on this church, stated:
1. Commitment to God
2. Commitment to the Black Community
3. Commitment to the Black Family
4. Dedication to the Pursuit of Education
5. Dedication to the Pursuit of Excellence
6. Adherence to the Black Work Ethic
7. Commitment to Self-Discipline and Self-Respect
8. Disavowal of the Pursuit of “Middleclassness”
9. Pledge to make the fruits of all developing and acquired skills available to the Black Community
10. Pledge to Allocate Regularly, a Portion of Personal Resources for Strengthening and Supporting Black Institutions
11. Pledge allegiance to all Black leadership who espouse and embrace the Black Value System
12. Personal commitment to embracement of the Black Value System.
On the Sunday after the terrorist attacks of 9/11, Mr. Wright said the attacks were a consequence of violent American policies. Four years later he wrote that the attacks had proved that “people of color had not gone away, faded into the woodwork or just ‘disappeared’ as the Great White West went on its merry way of ignoring Black concerns.”
Oh yes, WE caused the attacks. Blah blah, yeah, yeah, heard it!

Interesting to note, that the mission statement has been REMOVED from the church's web site, to be replaced with the following pablum:
Trinity United Church of Christ has been called by God to be a congregation that is not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ and that does not apologize for its African roots!
And then concludes:
The fortunate who are among us combine forces with the less fortunate to become agents of change for God who is not pleased with America’s economic mal-distribution!

W.E.B. DuBois indicated that the problem in the 20th century was going to be the problem of the color line. He was absolutely correct. Our job as servants of God is to address that problem and eradicate it in the name of Him who came for the whole world by calling all men, women, boys and girls to Christ.
Eradicate what, exactly? White people? America's economic mal-distribution? You mean capitalism? And replace it with what, like I cannot guess. And how is God displeased? Example please! Your job as servants of God is to address THAT problem? Color? Yeah well, color me surprised at this interpretation by this church.

Yup, where do I sign up to vote for THIS guy.

seung cho

Ok I have been reading up on this guy. Numerous articles state that had serious problems. Police involved, that he had a make believe girlfriend(that does seem strange for anyone over the age of 5) Had stalked classmates on the campus, and online, had also taken pictures of different women classmates from beneath his desk. The police were involved more than once. He had also been suicidal and had spent a night with counseling. Ok one night? Did you read the plays this guy wrote? His parents should not have sent him to college. He was a loner, ok I can see that but shunning any form of friendship or contact. His roommates even thought he was weird and could be dangerous or they wouldn't have called the cops. He wasn't just depressed, this is a whole different ball of wax. He needed help. Did anyone notice? How about his parents?I bet they do now.
I am all for the right to bear arms but how did this little psycho go into a gun shop and buy gun and ammo? No background check?
I can only imagine what this campus has gone through.

Virginia Tech

I am not sure exactly how I feel but numb. How can someone do what was done yesterday? I am wracking my brain trying to make sense of the carnage that one person can cause. Maybe there is no way to make sense because someone that would do that isn't sensible to begin with.
What can be so terrible to make a person do something like this? Was is an ex girlfriend, was it flunking out? What could make someone decide that this is the only way to go out? Did he fancy himself in his warped mind that he was going out in a blaze of glory?
I only hope that the students and teachers at VT can get on with their lives and be productive, communicative people. This is the key, talk about it, deal with it, help others, even if you don' t understand a comforting hand and a good ear goes a long long way. I can't help but think that if the shooter had these things may have turned out different.
My heartfelt sympathies to the families and the students who are dealing with this on a personal level.

Hillary: We've Never Had a President Like Bush

Fisking Hillary is like shooting fish in a barrel.
Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton says the United States has had an opportunity to engage in a meaningful dialogue with the Muslim world in the aftermath of 9/11, but the Bush administration has squandered precious time to do so.
Meaningful dialogue? With whom? Define "Muslim world" in your view. If you mean Iraq and Afghanistan, the President has a solid relationship with them. In fact, the President of Afghanistan has been here to speak. OHH, you mean the THUGS! Holocaust-denying-but-we-will-make-sure-we-finish-the-job dictators? A "President" who had opposition whacked? Which Muslim world? Dar al-Islam or Dar al-Harb?
Clinton, who called the administration's actions "regrettable," told the Sunday Citizen newspaper of Laconia, N.H., that "We need to get back to a much more vigorous diplomatic outreach effort. The president won't talk to countries that he doesn't agree with. We've never had a president who was so unwilling to engage in processes with people who, yes, are adversarial to our interests, but we have to figure out how to work with them, how to change them, and I certainly would begin to do that again."
Vince Foster was unavailable for comment.
She told the Citizen that "Patient diplomacy over years is sometimes the only way to bring about peaceful reconciliations. ... If you provide options for people to see the world in a broader way, you at least have a fighting chance to have your message heard."
Can you provide ONE instance where "patient diplomacy over years" worked? You had eight years in the White House. Name one time from your experience there. Or anytime in the past. Let's see,
...it was not until the second war with Algiers, in 1815, that naval victories by Commodores William Bainbridge and Stephen Decatur led to treaties ending all tribute payments by the United States. European nations continued annual payments until the 1830s. However, international piracy in Atlantic and Mediterranean waters declined during this time under pressure from the Euro-American nations, who no longer viewed pirate states as mere annoyances during peacetime and potential allies during war.
It took years of war to stop the Muslims in Tripoli. And then only by force.
Clinton also said:
  • It's regrettable President Bush "hasn't even been willing to have an international conference" on Iraq.
Yeah, well when the REST of the world ponies up more dough and more effort, maybe then he will. And who is to say he hasn't? Does it HAVE to be public? I doubt it. And how, specifically do you mean? France? Iran? Russia? Isn't it the intent of the Administration that Iraq stands on its own, free and independent?
  • She wants voters to "look at my qualifications and experience."
We have. Conclusion? Your qualifications stink. As for your experience? Well, let's just say I prefer we do not have any more sticky fingers in the White House.
  • "One thing we've learned over the last six years is that we need a steady hand in the Oval Office. We need somebody who can chart a course for our country, that is as much as possible non-partisan, not just bipartisan, that wants to restore competence to the government, who wants to make it clear that I'm willing to work with people of different points of view — I'm not sticking to one particular version of reality, as we've seen unfortunately the last six years."
A steady hand? Isn't that what you complained about before, that Bush refused to change direction? Non-partisan? You think YOU fill that bill? BWHAHAHAHAHA! Sticking to YOUR version of reality? You mean like this?

Hillary's hijab

  • The United States needs to lead by example, including by helping key nations build schools and pay teachers.
Let's fix our own educational system first shall we, before we attempt to instruct others how to do it. You oppose vouchers, I do not.
  • Bush "has broken faith with so much of American history and governmental practices" by unraveling past efforts to help the environment, promote nuclear weapon nonproliferation and restore fiscal responsibility.
I prefer to think of it as REMOVING past liberal efforts at creating a Socialist state in the US. Fiscal responsibility? YOU want to TAKE things from people, and redistribute, all the while skimming some for your self maybe? Bush cuts taxes, you want to RAISE them.

2008 cannot come soon enough.

Speaker Pelosi, where are the transcripts?

If the Democrats in Congress have the right to demand the transcripts of Vice President Cheney's Energy Working Group, then surely we have a moral right to know what was said between the Speaker and President Assad, and judge for ourselves where the truth lies.

It is interesting to note that there is no audio of the meeting that we see looped endlessly on TV. But it is clear through the body language of President Assad that he seems to be clearly lecturing her about something, while she appears to be dimly smiling and nodding. What is the discussion about? Will we ever know?
Ain't this the truth! I want the transcripts!

File this one under "She CANNOT be SERIOUS?!?!?!!?!"

Saw the headline on Drudge:
"Speaking just for myself, I would be ready to get on a plane tomorrow morning, because however objectionable, unfair and inaccurate many of (Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's) statements are, it is important that we have a dialogue with him,'' Lantos said. "Speaking for myself, I'm ready to go -- and knowing the speaker, I think that she might be.''

Pelosi did not dispute that statement, and noted that Lantos -- a Hungarian-born survivor of the Holocaust -- brought "great experience, knowledge and judgment" to the recent bipartisan congressional delegation trip to Israel, the Palestinian territories, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia in addition to Syria.
She has no boundaries, scruples, morals, or understanding of the Constitution.

Here we go again!

UPDATE: From LaShawn Barber's blog
Governor Deval Patrick, who was running for governor and promised to appease the homosexual lobby if elected, has made his first move. He recently “ordered state officials to record the marriages of 26 out-of-state gay couples,” which then-Governor Romney refused to recognize.

SF Asks High Court To Allow Same-Sex Marriages

San Francisco and the same-sex couples are appealing a ruling in which a Court of Appeal panel by a 2-1 vote in October upheld several state laws requiring marriage to be between a man and a woman.
What is that word, when you do the same thing again and again and again, and expecting a different result?

Oh yes.

Stupid.

A new piece of art showing Senator Barack Obama as Jesus Christ is now on display at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

What a crock this man is. They make him to be a god (he is clearly not) and he seems to see himself that way: [emphasis mine]
Obama told the group that he can unite the country, and a united country will bring change.

...

"One of the things that I've come to realize is how much I learn in the state Legislature, because there's very few jobs that give you a better sense of the state and the people in it - the struggles they're going through every day," Obama said. "It was that experience in the Legislature that convinced me that politics can be a noble calling."
Callings are for clergy, not politicians. I think we are going to see him more and more like this until he finally implodes.

Heh.

As I was researching, hotair.com linked to The Obama Messiah Watch.
I therefore inaugurate the Obama Messiah Watch, which will periodically highlight gratuitously adoring biographical details that appear in newspaper, television, and magazine profiles of this otherworldly presence in our midst.
In his own words:

Although the overwhelming majority of Americans describe themselves as Christians, Obama does not believe that any one religion should define the United States.

“We are no longer just a Christian nation,” he argues in “Audacity,” which was published last year. “We are also a Jewish nation, a Muslim nation, a Buddhist nation, a Hindu nation, and a nation of nonbelievers.”

Obama calls the Iraq war “a botched and ill-advised U.S. military incursion into a Muslim country.” He is also protective of civil rights for Muslims in the U.S.

Yuk.

Babs, you are off your meds again

UPDATE: Hotair is in on the same issue. Cool.
OK, here goes.

The gavel lady
.
(After Boxer squabbles about the length of Inhofe's questions to Gore...)

Inhofe: Why don't we do this? At the end, you can have as much time as you want to answer all of the questions...

Boxer: No, that isn't the rule. You're not making the rules. You used to when you had this (holding up the gavel). You don't do this anymore. Elections have consequences. (Audience cheers)

Now, it's one thing for the audience to cheer.
From Newbusters:
But CNN anchor Don Lemon couldn't help chiming in, too
CNN anchor Don Lemon just couldn’t resist editorializing over liberal Senator Barbara Boxer’s slam against a conservative colleague, James Inhofe. During the 3pm EDT hour of the "CNN Newsroom" program, anchors Lemon and Brianna Keiler played a contentious exchange between Boxer and Inhofe in which the Democratic Senator chastised the Republican for interrupting former Vice President Al Gore’s global warming testimony.

The complete transcript: Boxer and Rice

I posted the following at Newsbusters:

SEN. BOXER: And you don't seem to be willing to, A, admit a mistake, or give any indication of what you're going to do to forcefully involve others. As a matter of fact, you've said more misstatements; that the territory of the terrorists has been shrinking when your own administration says it's now expanded to 60 countries. So I am deeply troubled.

MS. RICE: Senator, may I respond?

SEN. LUGAR: Yes, let me just say that I appreciate the importance of Senator Boxer's statement. That's why we allowed the statement to continue for several more minutes of time.

SEN. BOXER: I'm sorry, I lost track of time.

And then
SEN. BOXER: Well, if you can't admit to this mistake, I hope that you'll --

MS. RICE: Senator, we can have this discussion in any way that you would like. But I really hope that you will refrain from impugning my integrity. Thank you very much.
She is a creep. Doesn't she realize we catch this stuff? What a HYPOCRITE, big mouthed, grrrrr DEM!

I feel better now.

Death to Christian schoolgirls! Death for drug possession! 20 years for Islamic militants!

UPDATE: Charles posted this:
The Indonesian monsters who slaughtered and decapitated three Christian schoolgirls, and claimed it was done as an act of “Islamic charity,” were given disgracefully light sentences today in Jakarta: 20 years for the leader, 14 years for the accomplices. Given Indonesia’s history of releasing Islamic terrorists who’ve only served a fraction of their time, don’t be surprised if we see them out again in a few months.
And note that even beheading school girls doesn’t qualify you for the “terrorist” label, according to the Associated Press.
As Charles Johnson is fond of saying: There are no words.
The Jakarta Post reports that Islamic militants who were caught following the beheading of three Christian schoolgirls in 2005 have been sentenced to death... just kidding! They're getting 14 to 20 years in prison.
From Michelle Malkin.
UPDATE: As a refresher what these, I cannot bring myself to call them PEOPLE, atlas has the story and images.

Barack Hussein Obama Practiced Islam, Now Runs From It w/ Warp Speed

The most hilarious thing about all of this is the speed with which Barack Hussein Obama and his staff are running from Islam, and the lies and spin they keep trying to attach to what is, in fact, true. He was a Muslim. He was educated as a Muslim. He was a practicing Muslim.

Read the whole thing.

Guest Post: Rep. Duncan Hunter on the Captains Quarters

Some of the key points:
I returned this week from a fact-finding trip to Iraq where I met with top U.S. military commanders in Baghdad, Ramadi, and Fallujah and was briefed by Iraqi Army and police officials.

In a letter to the President, I made several recommendations and attached a sample schedule for three-month field operations for all 129 Iraqi battalions, a plan that can be executed within the next six months.

Once the Iraqis are capable of taking responsibility for their own security, then we can rotate American troops home with the knowledge that Iraq is not a threat to our nation and will not be a state sponsor of terrorism.

At this critical point, the members of Congress who are engaging in political posturing, while our soldiers are carrying out their mission, are doing a real disservice to the troops. Let me add that if the Democrats were to cut off reinforcements and supplies to our troops in Iraq, our troops will never forgive them and I don't think the American people will ever forgive them either.

I know I won't.

John Edwards blog: Fox Attacks

Update: From Michelle Malkin.
Who knew it would be Dennis Kucinich had the stuff.
“I’m prepared to discuss the war, health care, trade, or any other issue anytime, anywhere, with any audience, answering any question from any media. And any candidate who won’t shouldn’t be President of the United States.”
Amen sir.

From Drudge. Emphasis mine throughout.

Oh brother. What a PANTY WAIST this guy is!
Enough is enough. It's time to send a clear message to Fox News and their allies that their right-wing talking points and temper tantrums won't go unchallenged anymore - when it comes to what Democrats should do in the Democratic primary, we'll decide - no matter what they report:
OK, now that MY little "temper tantrum" is done, give me money....
https://johnedwards.com/action/contribute/fox
And I return you to your regularly scheduled program, already in progress...
Fox News has already proven they have no intention of providing "fair and balanced" coverage of any Democrat in this election.
Predictably, he gives NO examples. When has Fox been anything but polite to Democrats?
In recent weeks they have run blatant lies about Senator Obama's background. And Fox was only too happy to give Ann Coulter a platform to spew more hate a few days after her bigoted attack on Senator Edwards and the gay community.
Again, predictably, he gives NO examples. What lies? Where are the links? Where is the defense of those lies?

And yet, now who is lying? COULTER: It isn't offensive to gays. It has nothing to do with gays. It's a schoolyard taunt, meaning wuss. And unless you're telling me that John Edwards is gay, it was not applied to a gay person.
Now it's time for Democrats to stand together and send a clear message to Roger Ailes, Fox News and all the rest of them: bias isn't balance, but turning tables is fair.
And all the rest of them? Who? What other sources are so unfair?
The truth is, Fox News can "report" whatever they want. And when it works for us, we'll deal with them on our terms. But this campaign is about responsibility and accountability, and we need to send the message to Fox that if they want to be the corporate mouthpiece of the Republican Party more than they want to be an impartial news outlet, they shouldn't expect Democrats to play along.
First of all, Brit Hume is a wonderful journalist. Probably the last one left. This is such an insult, and an insult to anyone who watches Fox. Fox posts the biggest audience in cable regularly, and this is just insulting. Fox viewers are not drones.

Doesn't it strike anyone a wee bit ironic that this man is talking about responsibility and accountability and yet hires the those hounds from hell to run his website?

They will deal with Fox on THEIR terms? Just what are those terms, sir? Again, empty words with no substance. And will you deal with our enemies by simply saying neener, neener, neener, and taking your marbles home to play, as you are now by not facing Fox? Oh what COURAGE, what STRENGTH you show.

An empty suit, this man.

Does anyone really think, that if he cannot handle the heat in the Fox kitchen, how will he handle Amadinnerjacket? Putin? Kim Jong Il? Assad? Hamas? Hezebollah?

Feh. The Panty Waist and the Pant Suit. Sounds like a sitcom to me. What a bunch of morons are running for President.

Marching on Selma

Best analysis on the recent Selma march I have read yet.
So what good can possibly come from having a bunch of rich, Northern politicians come to town and stir up old memories of racial hatred? None whatsoever. It only makes it worse. Racism is effectively dead in Alabama nowadays. Blacks serve in government from the city level all the way up to the state legislature. School segregation ended decades ago. Black businessmen and professionals are doing quite well. I know. More than a few of them are my friends.

No, this spectacle in Selma over the weekend was not about civil rights. It was about getting people to vote for idiot Senators who haven’t done a darned thing to help Selma economically. Even worse, they don’t plan to help the town any time soon. Witness the fact that while these bloviating egos were in Alabama, none of them took time to visit the recent tornado-ravaged region just southeast of Selma where people were still looking for bodies and digging out from destroyed homes and schools.

(Note: President Bush was in the tornado-ravaged region of south Alabama, offering assistance, declaring it a disaster area and trying to help the people get back on their feet.)

"Religion of Peace": Muslim Doctor Severs Infidel Cadaver Hand for Stripper, Gets Slap on Wrist

Emphasis mine throughout.
Muslim doctor, Ahmed Rashed, MD, who now practices medicine at Maimonides Medical Center in New York (Hello, Maimonides? Anyone home . . . ?), severed a hand from a cadaver in New Jersey and gave it to a stripper as a gift (how romantic). In response, you'd think he'd get some jail time and certainly lose his license to practice medicine.

BUT YOU WOULD BE WRONG. No, for stealing a dead person's hand, he got a slap on the wrist. Actually, not even that. The idiotic New Jersey judge (**** UPDATE: he's New Jersey Superior Court Judge Frederick DeVesa ****)--who AP unfortunately declined to name; why?!--set aside sentencing for 15 months, and told Rashed he will drop all charges if Rashed stays out of trouble. And he can still practice medicine. All he got was a $5,000 fine. It's absurd. Beyond absurd.

This isn't the only thing about this case that is disturbing to me.
Rashed gave the hand to exotic dancer Linda Kay, 31, during a visit to the club where she worked. He got to know her while he was a first-year medical student in 2002. She wanted a cadaver's hand, authorities said, and he complied.
She WANTED it? What for? Why isn't she in trouble too? Did she know the deceased? Why did she ask for it? What did she want to do with it? Animate it like Thing on The Addams Family?
